August 24, 2018 Good morning … Today’s attached LABOR DAY cartoons illustrate three diametrically opposed takes [so they seem?] for this last holiday of summer. The first toon ["DAY OFF"] features what you’d typically expect from a man who wonders if he’ll ever know a reprieve from his wife’s "TO DO” lists — & he LABORS on. The second ["EVER SINCE"] presents a scenario more than few wives out there may recognize — it’s one female's perspective on LABOR DAY realities. The third ["LAZY LABOR DAY"] is a simple attempt, gender-free, to define the meaning of LABOR DAY — resulting in what I consider a most appropriate approach to the holiday.
